Al Kashi: An Islamic mathematician

Al Kashi was one of te best Islamic mathematician. He was born in 1380 in Kashan in Iran. He was poor during his youth because there was a incompetent ruler who only wanted more territory.

His life became good after the ruler(Timur) died and his son took over the throne. His name is Shah Rokh. He and his wife were very interested in the sciences and they encouraged the court to study varioous science fields. This was perfect for Al Kashi to begin his career.

I'm going to talk about one of his theorem: It's the "Theorem of Al Kashi"(Its name)

In some triangle, the square lenght opposite to an angle is equal to the sum of the square of both other sides less the double of the product of these same sides and the cosine of the angle.

a^2 = b^2 + c^2 - 2bc\cos\alpha\,

b^2 = a^2 + c^2 - 2ac\cos\beta\,

c^2 = a^2 + b^2 - 2ab\cos\gamma\ ,
Al Kashi was still working on his book " Risala al-watar wa'l-jaib" meaning "The Treatise on the Chord and Sine", when he died the 22nd june 1429.
